On June 14, the 13th Meeting of the EU-Canada Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee (JSTCC) was hosted by the European Commission in Brussels. The meeting took place in the context of 20 years of cooperation under EU-Canada Science and Technology Agreement and 40 years since the opening of EU diplomatic representation in Ottawa.
It was agreed to continue and foster cooperation in key areas like Marine and Arctic research, Health Research, Aeronautics and ICT research, Agricultural research and Research Infrastructures. While as new area for cooperation security research has been agreed, Climate Change related research will be further exploited between the services involved.
Both parties agreed to continue developing common principles and adequate framework conditions needed to create a level playing field for researchers from Canada and the European Union to cooperate with each other on the basis of trust.
EU and Canada signed an Administrative Arrangement, intending to facilitate cooperation from Canadian participants in Horizon 2020 projects.

Canada-EU Natural Resources/Bioeconomy Science Collaborative Roundtable
On June 15, together with the Mission of Canada to the European Union, the ERA-Can+ project organised a round table on specific topics to deepen collaboration in research on natural resources and the bio-economy, with special focus on the Arctic, climate change, earth observation and open data, as well as genomics.
Both Canada and EU representatives showed great committment to align research endeavours on political and programme level, as well as sharing resources.
The Network of Valencian Universities for the promotion of Research, Development and Innovation (RUVID) provides several services for international science mobility, for example a list of host institutions in the Valencia region that are looking for Marie-Skłodowska Curie-Individual Fellowship (MSCA-IF) candidates in the 2016 Call.
